I am so ridiculously excited to finally share this with you!  This project has been my dream for a long time, and after spending the first part of the summer working on it, we’re finally ready to share!  (We still have a lot of work to do still, but at least it’s ready to be public and I thought it was time for you to hear about it!)

Announcing, (drumroll please!)…

The Ivan Project!

So, you ask… “um, what is that?”  Well, I’m so glad you did!  We are a company specializing in “diapers and delicates”, we sell cloth diapers (and soon shapewear too!), to babies, mommas, and everyone else…

Our goal is to connect fashion, art, and apparel with a humanitarian relief effort to help Russian orphans.  We’re still working on how to put everything together, but the goal is for a portion of the proceeds from every sale to go towards helping to provide food, clothing, and comfort to the abandoned children in Russian orphanages.  There is a desperate need there and we are trying to help fill it in whatever ways we can think of…

Today we’re announcing and launching the diapers, and soon there will be another post up for the lingerie.  And hopefully not too long after that, The Ivan Project website will be here too!

Our diapers are cloth all-in-ones, which means basically no stuffing, folding, or frustrations.  Imagine you’re putting a regular diaper on your baby, but then you can take it off, wash it, and they can wear it again.  It’s that simple!  We have tons of great prints, and they come with the option of velcro or snap closures.  (Piper and I use the velcro ones, and we love them!)  The soakers on the inside are microfiber, and the lining is a microchamois microfleece fabric.  And then the outside layer, which is what really keeps the liquids from soaking through is a PUL coated fabric, which is washable, dryable, and leakproofable.  There’s a previous post with some pictures of the diapers, on the lovely model Piper Bignon. (yes, I’m biased)

I designed the diapers after not being happy with what I was finding out there on the market, and at the same time looking for a great product to be able to launch The Ivan Project with.  And since I’m a mom, and lingerie designer, what better than diapers and delicates?

I’ve had an amazing friend from France spend her summer here helping me figure things out, and my sister is working with us as well.  We grew up in a family with siblings adopted from Russia, and after visiting the orphanages over there I’ve always had it on my heart to do something to help them.  So this really is a life-long dream of mine and I’m so excited to finally get it started!

Obviously, we’ll keep you updated with all the info we have, but for now here’s the exciting and most important part… drumroll again… a giveaway!  We’re going to give 2 diapers away to a lucky momma and baby pair out there, so if you’re interested, here’s the details… (Yes, you can still enter even if you don’t have kids, the diapers make great gifts! and, for all of you lovely ladies out there without babies and no need for diapers, don’t worry!  As soon as we launch the lingerie/shapewear there will most definitely be a giveaway for you as well!)

So…

Step 1: sign up to follow the blog, or send me an email (kebignon@gmail.com) saying you want to follow us and I’ll sign you up, and this gets you one entry

Step 2: if you want a 2nd entry, send me a comment or an email with an idea for us (anything counts! a marketing suggestion, an idea for how to structure our donations, anything!)

Step 3: for a 3rd entry (or a 2nd if you don’t want to do step 2), repost this on your Facebook page and send me a message saying you did.

Thanks for all your help, interest, and excitement!  I promise to keep you posted with all details as we have them, and to let you know the second that the lingerie is here as well!  For now, get your babies’ bottoms ready for some adorable little diapers!

xoxo

p.s. Send me a message/email if you’re interested in ordering, and soon we’ll be on etsy as well!
